Poet and performer Salena Godden and poet, memoirist and academic Hannah Lowe in conversation.
Salena Godden is one of Britain’s best loved poets and performers. She is also a broadcaster, memoirist and essayist and is widely anthologised. She has published several volumes of poetry, the latest of which was Pessimism Is for Lightweights, and a literary childhood memoir, Springfield Road.
Mrs Death Misses Death, her debut novel, was shortlisted for the Gordon Burn Prize 2021. Film and TV rights for Mrs Death Misses Death have been optioned by Idris Elba’s production company Green Door Pictures.
Hannah Lowe is a poet, memoirist and academic. Her latest book, The Kids, won the Costa Poetry Award and the Costa Book of the Year, 2021. Her first poetry collection Chick won the Michael Murphy Memorial Award for Best First Collection. Her family memoir Long Time, No See featured as Radio 4’s Book of the Week.
